Your Focus Team has welcomed the news that Yate Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) will have its opening hours extended from 8am til 8pm, 7 days a week, from April this year.

We are delighted that the local CCG has recognised how important the MIU is to our communities. Your Focus Team has campaigned alongside local people to get longer opening hours and we hope these will help reduce the number of people turned away.

Local councillor Claire Young met with MIU staff last year and was impressed with the scale of the work they do for people in Yate and the surrounding area. They stressed that they do not always have the resources to treat everyone who comes to them. Responding to this latest news, Claire said, “I’m pleased that the CCG has listened to everyone who told them how important it is that services at the MIU be extended.”
