How to sign up to vote by post

by Claire Young on 28 March, 2019

On 2nd May all the seats on South Gloucestershire Council and the Parish Councils will be up for election. There is also still the possibility that we could have European elections, a referendum or a General Election this year.

If you are going to be away on polling day, find it difficult to get out to the polling station or are just not sure if you will have time to vote, you can register for a postal vote. The deadline for applying to vote by post in the local elections is Monday 15th April. Fill in this form, sign it, and send it back to:

South Gloucestershire Council
Electoral Registration and Returning Officer
PO Box 1953
BS37 0DB

You can find out more about voting by post on the Your Vote Matters website. If you have any questions, please call the Council’s electoral services team on 01454 863030.

If you’ve moved house since you applied for a postal vote, you will need to make a new application. And if you, or someone you know, isn’t registered to vote at their current address, details on how to register are here.
