The Highways Agency will be closing the bridge which crosses the M4 on the B4465 between Westerleigh and Pucklechurch for strengthening works from Tuesday 27th August to Friday 4th October.
You will still be able to get to the crematorium from the Yate and Westerleigh direction, but if you’re coming from elsewhere please follow the diversion signs or leave the ring road (A4174) at the Emersons Green roundabout, and come in along the Westerleigh Road.

All well and good and necessary but having travelled from Downend along Westerleigh Road to get to St Aldams nursery, I am not very impressed to find that I had to return to almost where I had started and had to use the road through Shortwood.
Advance warning near the A4174 would have been useful.
Thanks for the comment, will raise it with officers.
Hi. Just after some clarification. You are saying that the bridge will be open on the 4th October but they did put a sign up saying it had changed to the 10th of October. To be honest the sooner the better really.
Kind regards
It’s still saying 4th October on the Travel West site but I’ll check with officers.
The initial response from officers was that it was still due to end today but yesterday an officer said it would go on for another week I’m afraid.
