They are now proposing to keep the council chamber at Kingswood but move the staff to Nibley, which still requires the car park to be extended. Your Focus Team requested and received plans that demonstrate this will still leave room for the planned Park and Ride.

Glad to see the car park expansion.
Just one thing – MAKE IT BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL THE CARS EXPECTED.
There is too much on street parking by council works on the trading estates now so let’s use the Park and Ride land if we have to and get these cars off the streets.
I don’t think the park and ride will work as I believe it will use the standard bus service anyway! So what is the point?

I personally don’t think the park and ride will work as I believe it will use the standard bus service anyway! So what is the point.
Thanks for your comments. I’m due to discuss the parking issue with officers tomorrow. I think there is value in a Park and Ride, especially as people can’t use the shopping centre car parks for that purpose as they did in the past. Ideally it would be part of a comprehensive transport package for Yate, including local buses linking the town centre, station, Park and Ride and the outlying estates.
