Back in August we reported that the Planning Inspectors had cancelled the next phase of the hearings on the West of England’s Joint Spatial Plan (JSP), which proposes building thousands of homes in our area. Now the follow-up letter setting out their major concerns has been published.

Your Focus Team has been working with local residents to challenge the plan at every stage, including speaking at the hearings in Bath in July. Even when the Planning Inspectors wrote to them last year expressing their concerns, the South Gloucestershire Conservative administration and their colleagues elsewhere pushed on stubbornly, wasting time and money. Now they need to accept that this plan has failed and work with our communities to deliver genuinely affordable housing where we need it.
