Last year the council used an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) to trial closing various minor roads in the Moorend, Bury Hill and Bromley Heath areas to motor vehicles.

In response to feedback on the original ETO, the council is now proposing to trial three revised restrictions. These will stop motor vehicles (except solo motorcycles) from using Old Bromley Heath Road north of the A4174, a section of Bromley Heath Road south of the A4174, and Cuckoo Lane as through routes.

You can find out more and have your say on the consultation website. The council will be considering whether the closures in the ETO should be made permanent. Anyone can object to the continuation of the experimental order before 30 April 2020.

The council originally wanted to close Ruffet Road/Coalsack Lane too with their original ETO in 2018. Claire arranged an on-site meeting with highways officials followed by a drop-in event where local people made clear their strong opposition. Officials have now confirmed that these plans have been dropped.
