Last week we told you about a review of Resource Bases for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in South Gloucestershire. Parents have raised concerns with us, which we’ve taken up with council officials.

This Wednesday Claire took that a step further. The council has a Scrutiny Commission, a committee with members from all parties whose job it is to hold the ruling group to account. On Wednesday Claire asked them to look at the proposals before the Cabinet makes a decision to take them to the next stage of consultation in March. They agreed.

This sort of challenge is vital to make sure the council gets this right for all the children involved.
